A port of DELTATRAVELER to WebGL for you to play on Chromebooks. :)

Note: This is in active development, there are bound to be issues that I missed as I can't get them all by myself. Please post in the comments any issues you have about it. Also, this is more of a tech demo than anything, so if this is your first experience with the game, then don't play this. This is more along the lines of a cool thing to show "wow that was really cool"

Thanks a lot - the offline download works! However, is it possible to optimize its performance in any way? It runs smoothly on my MacBook, but just barely manages 10 fps on my school Chromebook. I know it's just because school Chromebooks are absolute garbage, but still - is it possible for you to do anything on your end? Thanks!

Sadly, this is not possible without sacrificing play ability. The system I am using requires a computer with a decent amount of ram, 8 gigabytes at best. Most Chromebooks only come with 4 gigabytes of ram, and is not up-gradable (by default). So if you want to play Deltatraveler offline on a Chromebook, then this is not the silver bullet to your problem. It "Works" in the loosest definition of the word.

That's alright, at least I still have 3 more savefiles on my MacBook with this!

I mean... if you are doing this on a MacBook, why not just use the official MacBook download? This was made more for devices with a web browser but no official port of the game.

I don't wanna sound like a D1 complainer, but it still doesn't work. I launched the Offline Download locally on my Mac, and it was just black. I've included a screenshot of it with the console opened up. Also, could you somehow make the game canvas bigger when it launches?

Did I do something wrong this time too?

It is not that reliable of a system so don't expect it to work first try, you will need to refresh frequently. And about the scale issue? What would be preferable? And besides you can just press f4 on your keyboard to Fullscreen.

Edit: Do give it a moment to decompress it first and if that doesn't work, then refresh it.

launched for me idk what you mean

It doesn't launch or load correctly if you try to run it locally. Even running it with the itch app doesn't work. Its just a tiny black window. I've included images from trying to launch them locally from my school Chromebook and personal MacBook respectively. My school's blockers don't block HTML files normally, so I guess something's wrong with the file. However, other people seem to be having no problems. Am I doing something wrong?

OK yeah there are a lot of problems you have going here. First of all, you are trying to access it out of a zip file. Web browsers can't read Zip files without a third party interpreter to unzip the files. And second of all, that build was meant to be used on servers to be hosted by other unblocked game websites, not for offline usage. If you want to play Delta traveler offline, you should just go get an official download from the original Deltatraveler page. And for all my Chromebook users, I have not yet gotten an offline download developed quite yet, but I am working on it.

Oh, I see. I realized my mistake of opening it through a .ZIP file after I commented, but I tried it without it, and it still didn't work, so I decided there was no point editing my comment. Thanks for the info!

Good news. There is now a downloadable version of it to play offline on your chromebook.

Did your game also turn into a Garry's Mod? By the way, about the saves, he said that with each update the saves are reset, and there's nothing he can do about it.

Yeah, and Deltatraveler is kind of a short game, so you can get your progress back quickly.

I may consider adding a level select.

As far as I know, the gary's mod thing was only in the trailer.

Hey, I finally finished the game, I did the pacifist route and managed to reach the end, thank you very much...


About bugs? I didn't see any that interfere with the gameplay or anything like that, just a few visual bugs in some enemies (Jerry, and Sans' attack when he raises his hand, and in the passage before facing Jerry there's a gift monster that also looks a bit buggy, and the credits scene after you see Undyne and enter the door crashes the game) but aside from that? The game is in perfect condition, now anyone who wants to play can play without any problems. Good job!

Thank you for the update. Thanks to you, I managed to try the Obliteration route; however, I can't fight Jerry. On his second attack, the game just crashes out of nowhere, so I can't finish the route, and it turns Neutral. Also, when I access Sans' shop, the game crashes.

Yeah I fixed the problem, it turns out that the crash had something to do with his spin attack.

Hey, great job updating the game, Cake Logic. I finally managed to get past that part I mentioned before... However, when I reach Snowdin - Dogi checkpoint, and move forward a bit doing Papyrus' first puzzle, the game simply crashes. I know it's annoying... you just updated the game and there's already a glitch again... I would be grateful if you could fix it.

I'm not sure if this happened to other people, but in section 3, when we finished that game with Papyrus, the one who kept electrocuting you, then after that there is a bridge, and after this bridge, there seems to be an invisible wall that won't let me pass. I would be grateful if you could fix it (I am on the pacifist route).

toriel is HARD, also can someone tell me how to fullscreen, and if the download is optimized for Chromebooks?

Press f4. On chromebooks you need to enable the option "Treat top keys as function keys" In keyboard settings, and Press the Fullscreen button.

The download option is to allow other unblocked games website owners to host the game, but is not to be able to play deltatraveler offline. I may make a downloadable version that is also playable offline.

fun fact: if you name yourself frisk you become her in game plus there is different text if named frisk 

First of all, that's "THEM" to you; they are non-binary. And Second of all, that's actually a pretty fun fact, but is already an option in the extras tab called "Hard Mode".

This is an issue I simply cannot fix, every time I update the game to fix a bug or issue, all saves that anyone ever made on here get wiped. Otherwise it saves fine. Just be aware of that, this is more of a tech demo or one time play, rather than a permanent thing.

In section 2, there is an impenetrable barrier that makes it impossible to progress, I will fix this later today.

I see what you mean. Yeah, there was a piece of code that crashed that cut scene in normal mode, I guess that's come back to haunt me.

Edit: Nvm, that was a different piece of code, It works fine, although if you compare my version to the real version, you'll notice that the lever isn't flipped. It makes the sound effect that it did, but it was the same as before.

PS: Remember, all saves have been wiped. Not my fault. Itch.io is to blame.
